Homeschool Letter N

Just for the record, N is hard – if anyone has other ideas, let me know. 🙂

Letter of the week: N

Memory verse for the week: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” Acts 4:12 Periodically throughout the day, we will listen to this song.

New Toy: clock, ball

Mystery Box Items (choose 5 – one for each day): napkin, numbers, nine, nut, newspaper, nickels (in a small container he can shake, but make sure he can’t get to them – choking hazard), noise makers, nature objects

Daily Story/Activity: (This is what we do to start our “learning time” each day) Tell the Nativity story while looking at our Nativity display, sing a couple songs, look at letter of the day. Set aside aprox. 15 mins to read as many books as Samuel wants. After doing daily activities, if Samuel needs other things to do, here are some options:

Go for a walk, blow bubbles, color in coloring book, play dough, finger paint, water play, sing “Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes”, stack pots and pans or bowls, play with balls, finger painting, water painting

Monday – LeapFrog Fridge Phonics (each week I will put a different letter in the fridge phonics toy. I don’t usually like electronic toys, but Samuel loves putting the letter in this one and pressing the button. I’m only giving him one letter at a time right now.) We will look at the new toys set out and play with them together.

Tuesday – Practice writing name in shaving cream (mostly he will play and I will write the letters of his name).

Wednesday – Read Number and counting books

Thursday – Get December sensory tub, make cookies to take to the neighbors

Friday – Go on a nature hike.
