Homeschool Week 8 – Letter G

Letter of the week: G

Memory verse for the week: “For it is by grace you have been through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8 Periodically throughout the day, we will listen to this song.

New Toy: Grocery Store – This isn’t exactly a toy, but I thought it might be nice to make a little grocery store for Samuel.  He loves taking things out of bags and boxes and putting them back in, so I will set up one shelf with empty food containers and play food for him to take off the shelf and put into bags or a “grocery cart” (laundry basket).

Mystery Box Items (choose 5 – one for each day): glitter sensory bottle, grass, glow stick, gloves, glasses, giraffe, gate, various green things, golf ball, fresh green beans, ginger, gift, goat

Songs: There are a lot of songs this week, but here are a few – The Green Gras Grew All Around, To God be the Glory

Foods: Grapes, green beans

Daily Story/Activity: (This is what we do to start our “learning time” each day)
Tell the story (with pictures) of David and Goliath – the Giant.  Sing “Only a Boy Named David

Monday – LeapFrog Fridge Phonics (each week I will put a different letter in the fridge phonics toy.  I don’t usually like electronic toys, but Samuel loves putting the letter in this one and pressing the button.  I’m only giving him one letter at a time right now.) Play Grocery store.

Tuesday – Feed the Geese

Wednesday – Dig in the garden

Thursday – Play with cars – put up the gas station and have cars stop to get gas

Friday – Walk and play in the grass
